Legendary Coronation Street star returns to the cobbles after 23 years away — but there’s a twist
A LEGENDARY Coronation Street actor is set for a Cobbles comeback after 23 years away from the soap – yet The Sun can exclusively reveal there’s a huge twist.
The screen star made his huge reveal on TikTok, posting a video featuring a short snippet of his latest role on the ITV show.


Jake Parry first found fame on Coronation Street‘s iconic Weatherfield Cobbles as a baby, taking on the role of Simon Barlow alongside his brother.
Now, after starring in everything from Taco Bell, FIFA and Microsoft commercials in the interim period, he is back on the tea-time soap.
After uploading his clip to social media, which briefly showed his character getting into a scuffle with another man, he wrote: “Coronation Street trailer. Catch me as DAMO next week”.
One fan then quizzed: “What date is this on?” to which he replied: “May 26”.

Jake, who has also starred in BBC Three drama Red Rose, then clarified he would be playing a completely different role second time around.
He wrote: “For anyone wondering, I played Simon Barlow with my brother when I was a baby.
“I have now came back as a different character DAMO which is out next week”.
This prompted another user to write: “Look forward to seeing you in this”.

Jake and brother Oscar played the Simon Barlow role from July to November 2003, although for two episodes in September, the role was instead played by Daniel Whelan.
Simon was most recently portrayed by actor Alex Bain.
It remains to be seen what Jake’s character Damo has in store.
Though he is described as a “young man” in the soap spoilers, with one scene capturing him clambering out of a car.
