Why did Savannah Chrisley and Nic Kerdiles split?
Savannah and Nic ended their engagement in September 2020 while the pair worked on improving their relationship.
The reality TV star revealed that she and her ex-fiancé were in therapy weeks after she revealed that she decided to cancel the marriage plans to avoid the “divorce culture.”
The duo announced their engagement in April 2019 after dating for almost two years.
They were expected to walk down the aisle earlier in May 2020.
Savannah opened up to ET about her choice and her plans moving forward, explaining that she and Nic were taking time to focus on themselves.
She said: “You’re allowed to have those boundaries and you’re allowed to figure it out for yourselves. And you don’t have to make someone else comfortable while making yourself uncomfortable.
“That’s kind of the place we’re in. We’re both doing therapy, individually, and just trying to figure out our place and what we truly want out of life.
“And having those hard decisions so we’re not part of this whole divorce culture.”

In September 2020, the Growing Up Chrisley star shared that the couple had decided to “call it quits.”
She wrote on Instagram: “There’s no hatred between the two of us…and in all honesty…that makes saying goodbye even harder,
“We have nothing but love, respect, and admiration for one another but it’s time for us to move forward individually.
“These past 3 years have been some of the best years of my life…but I have to trust that God has a far greater purpose for my life…I believe that He will take this hardship and make something beautiful out of it.
“Now please be kind with this news that I am sharing…”
On an episode of Chrisley Knows Best, Savannah shared that she called off her nuptials with her then-fiancé.
“Nick and I have decided to call the wedding off,” Savannah nervously shared with brother Chase.
As she continued to explain, Savannah clarified that she and her fiancé decided they needed to “take a couple steps back.”
The reality star said: “Things just moved way too fast.”
She explained that things changed when they were together after making it work long-distance between his base in San Diego, California, and hers in Nashville, Tennessee.
She continued: “Like, we started dating, it was long distance. So, obviously, when we saw each other it was gonna be nothing but the good stuff. It was easy.”
Savannah told Chase that the pair had been fighting.
She said: “We just suck at communicating with one another.
“That’s what it comes down to. So, then it always leads to an argument.
“I’m honestly so confused right now. I thought that I wanted this wedding but I can’t ignore where things are with Nic and I right now.”
Savannah nervously confronted Todd about the end of her engagement on the show.
She went on to find the courage to tell her father about her relationship woes.
She said: “The wedding is off and so is the engagement.
“It happens when you rush into things. From the time we started dating to the time we got engaged, it was not even a year.
“It’s so easy to be in the honeymoon phase of things and then when the real world hit we weren’t prepared for it, so we made a lifelong adult decision on basically the relationship of kids.”
While Todd eventually accepted his daughter’s decision to end the engagement, Savannah said she was “hopeful” she could make things work with Nic.
