Savannah Chrisley Has Been Raising Her Siblings Since Her Parents’ Sentencing—And It Hasn’t Been Easy

If you consider yourself a reality television buff, then you certainly know who the Chrisleys are. Led by patriarch Todd, his wife Julie, and their children Savannah, Chase, Grayson, Lindsie, Kyle and Chloe, their hilarious family dynamics and the chaos of their day-to-day life made for wildly entertaining television—until scandal plagued their family.

In 2022, Todd and Julie Chrisley were sentenced to 12 and 7 years in prison, respectively, for fraud and tax evasion. Since Todd and Julie began their sentences in 2023, their 27-year-old daughter has taken on the responsibility of raising her younger siblings—and while it’s a gig she is more than capable of and feels lucky to do, it certainly wasn’t one she ever anticipated. Here, see what Savannah has said about what the past few years have been like looking over Grayson and Chloe. Plus, read everything we know about the Chrisleys’ all-new series coming to Lifetime. What has Savannah Chrisley said about raising her siblings?

For Savannah, taking on this responsibility was something she didn’t have time to adjust to. “I wasn’t expecting to get two kids,” the reality television star, social media personality and podcaster recently told People. “So, between that, legal expenses to fight for my parents, I am just like anyone else out here. Sure, I put a smile on my face. I look the part, I play the part. But it doesn’t mean I actually am the part. You fake it till you make it. That’s the world that we live in.” She continued, “I’m no better than anyone else out here, to have to struggle. And I am not lazy. I know that I have two kids to provide for, and I know I have two parents that I need to get home. So, I’ll work my a— off till the wee hours of the morning if I have to. It’s just who I am.”

How have Grayson and Chloe adjusted to this change?

While things have been rough on Savannah, with the Chrisley daughter doing what she can to allow her two younger siblings to live a normal life, Grayson and Chloe have had to endure their own set of struggles as they learn to adapt to their new normal. However, despite all that has gone on with her family in the public eye and behind closed doors, Savannah has revealed that she and her family have always been honest with the youngest members of the group about what’s going on, preferring that they hear it right from them rather than from people at school or online.

Unfortunately, they’ve grown up really fast because of it, but I mean what kid doesn’t need therapy? What adult doesn’t need therapy?,” she expressed to Entertainment Tonight. “It’s life, you go through things and for me, it’s just about how you deal with it,” further sharing that Grayson and Chloe are in therapy every week.

An all-new Chrisley reality show is coming soon
