Game of Thrones and The Good Doctor stars team up for new comedy
Worlds are set to collide as Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams will be joining The Good Doctor‘s Freddie Highmore in the upcoming comedy Sinner v. Saints.
The film will be directed by Fleabag director Tim Kirkby and is based on Anthony Delano’s book Joyce McKinney and the Case of the Manacled Mormon and the real-life news story behind it.
Set in LA and London, Sinner v. Saints is based on the real-life scandal behind the ‘Mormon sex in chains case’ that made headlines worldwide back in the ’70s.
The film will tell the story of an eccentric MENSA beauty queen who goes to extreme lengths to stop the Mormon church from stealing her sexual obsession: a nebbish Mormon missionary, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The script has been written by Jill Hoppe while Ozark‘s Mark Williams and Andriana Williams, head of Zero Gravity’s Inspire Division, will be producing.
“It’s rare to find an over-the-top true story with compelling characters and zany twists and turns like this,” commented Andriana.

“The all-consuming passion, absurd lawbreaking, and outrageous antics made news around the world then and can be sure to entertain today.”
Kirkby added: “I’ve never read a more no-holds-barred fever dream of a script that whisks the reader on a journey of sex, obsession, and rock ‘n’ religion like Sinner V. Saints.
“Obsessive, first love is a magnificent premise, and sprinkle on top a killer true story involving abduction, quirky supporting characters and the era of free love, and you have a cocktail of something very potent.”
Both Williams and Highmore share quite a similar history, as they both rose to fame at a fairly young age.
Williams is best known for her role as Arya Stark on HBO’s Game of Thrones, where she joined as a main character at the age of 12. She will next be seen in FX’s limited biopic series Pistol, which will tell the story of the rise and fall of the Sex Pistols.
Highmore, who made his acting debut at the age of 7 and rose to fame in movies such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Finding Neverland, is currently producing and starring in The Good Doctor.
Sinner v. Saints is set to go into production in the first quarter of 2023, with its filming locations scattered between the US and the UK.
