Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd shows off shaven-headed look after hair transplant

Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd has revealed a temporary new look following his recent hair transplant. The actor, who plays David Platt on the soap, has undergone the cosmetic procedure twice previously, and confirmed his third transplant on his podcast On The Sofa.

“This is my third one. So most people are thinking, I thought you’d just get one hair transplant and then it’s Elvis,” he told his Corrie co-hosts Colson Smith and Ben Price.
“But that’s not the case apparently, because baldness still progresses as time goes on. So I had one in 2018, 2019 and now. So I’ve had it all done mainly on the front and sections.”

Shepherd then removed his baseball cap to reveal his shaven head, explaining that he’d had the procedure the day before.

“I think it’s a look, you know. I actually quite like it,” said Smith, who also had a hair transplant back in 2024. Meanwhile, Price wasn’t quite as supportive in his response and burst out laughing at his on-screen brother.

After making a few more jokes, the pair assured Shepherd he didn’t “look that bad”, with Smith adding: “It suits you. Bald and beard’s a look.”

Price agreed: “I actually don’t think you look that bad. I could get used to you like that.”

When asked if it was a big decision to have the third hair transplant, Shepherd said that he felt like it was the right time as he had taken some leave from work to prepare for the birth of his baby.

“I could see it, I could see it further back in the middle. I could see it going in. So it was sort of act now while I could and I had a bit of time off for the baby, so it was perfect.”

“Paternity and hair transplant,” said Smith, to which Shepherd replied: “Exactly that. What a month!”
