‘Fire Country’ Clip: See Shawn Hatosy’s Big Return as Richards (Exclusive)
In footage from Fire Country‘s next episode, Richards can be seen walking into the station and surprising his colleagues. “Full moon, right?” he asks everyone.
After a group meeting, he calls for Manny and Jake Crawford (Jordan Calloway) to follow his lead to a back room, where he wanted to see “how good I look for appointing Manny as chief.” As it turns out, there’s still a little “more” to his return than just a checkup.
“I’m station hunting,” Richards says. “I’ve been at 63 for 20 years now, in between diagnosing other stations. Time for a change.”
In an interview with TV Insider published Saturday, March 7, Alejandro teased that he hopes “there’s more of him to come in the future” when referring to Hatosy’s character and explained that the episode finds “two alphas in the same room.”
“It is just a matter of understanding who’s the ultimate alpha and who has that decision in the moment,” he said. “There’s always going to be that back and forth, which I freaking love, that ‘I have experience on you’ but ‘I’m the current,’ and ‘this is my world’ but ‘I’ve been invited into this world to take charge.'”
He adds, “We’ve set ourselves up for a really good back and forth between the struggle of power, struggle for power, but ultimately all the decisions are based on the good of the community.”
Speaking on his character and his eventual return, Hatosy told the outlet of his character that “it’s just taking him a minute to be accepted in, and hopefully, this next time we see him, they’re going to let him in.”
