Coronation Street villain makes scene confession in first interview after shock exit
Coronation Street actor James Cartwright has revealed he cried after filming a scene in the soap tackling domestic abuse.
Cartwright’s abusive character Theo Silverton pushed a kebab into the face of his husband Todd Grimshaw, as part of the show’s domestic abuse storyline.
The actor, whose character has been murdered following weeks of suspense, appeare
d on ITV’s This Morning on Monday (4 May) to discuss his shock exit.
He said:” I was holding the back of his (Todd’s) neck, and as you would in the scene, he was trying to pull away, and I was pushing the kebab… and then I got in the car on my lunchtime and I had a little cry, just because It was a release.”
