So, if you’re looking to settle in for some drama, romance, and a new medical problem every episode, Grey’s is a good place to start.
But, if you’re looking up medical shows… there’s a good chance you’ve already very familiar with the staff at Grey Sloan Memorial. If that’s the case, there are plenty more medical shows to watch, including dramas, comedies, period pieces, and even a docuseries that shows the goings on in real hospitals.

Grey’s Anatomy
Let’s start with the obvious. Grey’s Anatomy began in 2005 and follows the doctors of Seattle Grace Hospital (If you’ve watched, you know that it’s later renamed Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.) House
The eight seasons of House are addictive to watch, because each episode contains a mystery as Dr. House (Hugh Laurie) and his colleagues try to diagnose unknown illnesses. And the way Dr. House goes about it is often pretty unbelievable. (As it should be: fictional show.) Co-stars include Lisa Edelstein, Omar Epps, and Olivia Wilde.

Call the Midwife
The British medical drama Call the Midwife premiered in 2012 and has 12 seasons so far. The series is about midwives working at a London hospital in the 1950s and ’60s. The episodes tackle particular issues that the expecting and new mothers are facing, as well as overarching societal topics like poverty, medical advancements, and mental health.
Private Practice
The Grey’s Anatomy spinoff Private Practice premiered in 2007. It follows Grey’s character Dr. Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh), who was introduced on the original show as the wife of Derek Shepherd aka McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey) and went on to work at Seattle Grace herself. On Private Practice, the neonatal surgeon leaves the hospital to work in a—you guessed it—private practice.
