New season 9 episodes of the hit ABC series have been airing every Thursday night, keeping fans in step with the folks at the 118.
While we know that 9-1-1 still has more stories to tell, especially as the show will return for season 10 this fall on ABC, the series loves to throw curveballs at its viewers. In this case, fans will be disappointed to learn that the 9-1-1 finale will air on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, per an April 1 Deadline announcement.

This isn’t the only show that’s wrapping up its season around this time. The 9-1-1 spinoff, 9-1-1: Nashville, will also air its finale on May 7. Grey’s Anatomy will premiere its last episode of season 22 on the same night.
An official press release from ABC has us thinking there are plenty of twists in store for the 9-1-1 finale. The episode, titled “Hearts and Flowers,” will see the 118 as they anxiously wait to hear Athena’s fate after she’s involved in a shooting.
