Oscar Branning’s complicated love life is set to unravel in dramatic fashion, as new EastEnders pictures reveals the moment his secret connection with Josh is finally discovered by Kat Slater.

The lad has been stuck between twins Jasmine and Josh in recent weeks after initially striking up a romance with Jasmine, only to develop feelings for her estranged brother. While Oscar attempted to put his attraction to Josh behind and focus on his relationship with Jasmine, the situation has only become more complicated.

Recent episodes saw Oscar and Josh give in to their feelings once again, leaving Oscar increasingly torn between the siblings. Now, upcoming scenes suggest his efforts to keep everyone happy could be about to come crashing down.

The drama begins after Oscar learns more about the circumstances surrounding the death of Jasmine and Josh’s foster father. Determined to get answers, he confronts Jasmine about what really happened. However, the conversation doesn’t go as planned.

Jasmine reacts angrily to Oscar’s probing and, in scenes airing on BBC One, publicly slaps him across the face in The Queen Vic. The fallout leaves Oscar shaken, while Kat attempts to keep the peace by organising a birthday meal for her granddaughter. Jasmine agrees to attend the celebration, but only if Josh is invited too.

Still reeling from his argument with Jasmine, Oscar later returns to Josh for comfort. New pictures show the pair sharing another emotional moment that quickly develops into another kiss. Unfortunately for them, they’re not alone.

Kat walks in on the pair and immediately realises what has been going on behind Jasmine’s back. Furious over the situation, she seemingly warns Oscar to stay away from her grandchildren before later agreeing with her husband Alfie that the secret should remain under wraps.

The discovery places Kat in an awkward position. While she now knows the truth, Jasmine remains completely unaware of the growing connection between Oscar and Josh. Meanwhile, tensions continue to rise ahead of the birthday celebrations.

Jasmine is left upset when Oscar turns down her invitation, believing it’s because of their recent argument. Josh also initially refuses to attend, creating further headaches for the family. But after receiving some encouragement from Zoe, both boys eventually agree to show up, setting the stage for what could be a very uncomfortable gathering.

Actor Pierre Counihan-Moullier recently hinted that Oscar’s attempts to balance both relationships are destined to end badly, admitting the character is making increasingly poor decisions as he tries to keep everyone happy.

“Oscar believes he’s in control, yet the more he gets involved, the worse it becomes,” said Pierre. “He keeps making the wrong decisions in typical Branning fashion. He thinks he can fix everything, but can’t admit he’s messed up.”

The actor also suggested Oscar is painfully aware of the damage the truth could cause, particularly when it comes to Jasmine. “He doesn’t want to hurt Jasmine, and dreads facing her when she finds out,” Pierre added. “Everything he’s tried to avoid comes crashing down.” Will Kat spill the beans?
