Beverley Callard’s husband admits it’s been a ‘down day’ as he shares health update on star amid cancer battle
BEVERLEY Callard’s husband has admitted it’s been a “down day” as he shared a health update on her amid her battle with breast cancer.
The Coronation Street icon, 69, was diagnosed with the disease back in January and revealed this week that she’s all set to start radiotherapy.

Now her other half Jon has taken to Instagram to update her fans on how she’s feeling.
He began: “So been to the hospital, got some news, they’ll try to start radiotherapy as soon as they can but here we are now with some friends here.
“It’s been a down day and then I made sangria. Got some friends here, cooking a BBQ and Beverley is here.”
Attempting to make the best of the situation, Beverley was seen sat around a dinner table with a group of friends as they laughed and chatted away.

Loud opera music could be heard playing in the background as Jon panned the camera around before a beaming Bev shouted “Cheers” with a glass of wine.
Jon asked: “How many sangria’s have we had?,” as Beverley responded: “We’re on the fifth jug, they’ll be more.”
“Sometimes you’ve just gotta let go,” he concluded.
The caption read: “Sometimes all you need is @jonmmac60, good friends and 5 jugs of sangria!

The Liz McDonald star’s loyal fans rushed to the comments section to send her love as one said: “You all deserve a few sangria’s. Cheers to better times.”

Another person wrote: “Enjoy your night. I’ve been with you through your journey, you’ve been so inspiring. Hope radiotherapy goes well, you’ll be amazing.”
Somebody else penned: “Love you two, God bless you both. Hope you are also getting some support. I know it’s a journey you are taking together.”

The actress revealed earlier this week that doctors were “a little concerned” by recent test findings, but had suggested a treatment path to move forward.
She told her social media fans: “Well I went to the hospital today at quarter past three, and they all seemed very nice, obviously they’re new to me.
“They are a little concerned because they think I should’ve started the radiotherapy before now but of course because we moved house, it took a while for my medical records to come from England to Ireland et cetera but they’ve all arrived.
“I’ve got to go back on Thursday morning to see some more doctors and medical people and then they will begin it soon so it went okay, it went okay.
“So I will keep you updated.”
In her video caption, she put: “A trip to the breast clinic today… it went ok, not quite what I wanted to hear but a step forward nonetheless. Hoping to get started as soon as possible!”
