Corrie fans unearth forgotten Shameless scene featuring Maggie and Ben – YEARS before they became mother and son on soap
CORONATION Street fans were left stunned after unearthing a forgotten scene between Maggie and Ben Driscoll – YEARS before they starred on the ITV soap.
Viewers clocked soap stars Pauline McLynn being drenched in water from a hose pipe in hilarious scenes
Pauline, who now plays Corrie‘s Maggie, was then seen a child away from the fracas by his ear in the forgotten clip from hit show Shameless.
The E4 series, which wrapped in 2013 after 11 instalments, saw Pauline play librarian Libby Crocker and she later became main character Frank Gallagher’s main love interest.
Meanwhile, Aaron played Mimi Maguire’s son Jamie Maguire from 2007.
Mimi and Aaron had ganged up on Libby in the explosive scene, before the garden equipment was brandished.

Now, the screen stars have teamed up years later on the Weatherfield soap set – in a very different storyline.

Pauline’s character Maggie Driscoll accidentally killed her husband, Ben’s dad, years ago when they had an explosive row at the top of the stairs and she pushed him down them, murdering him.
While Ben’s brother, Finlay, witnessed the tragic scene and has since cut contact with the family, The Rovers Return landlord was left in the dark.
But, it all came to the surface after Maggie was ruthlessly blackmailed by Will Driscoll’s groomer Megan Walsh – who had overheard her secret.
Last month, her murderous ways threatened to tear the family apart.
She also fessed up about the identity of her son Ben’s real dad, who The Sun exclusively revealed as Jim McDonald after he and Maggie had an affair in the 70s.
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
