Emmerdale fans fear star has secretly QUIT soap after ominous Instagram post

EMMERDALE fans have been left worried that one actress has secretly quit the soap after an ominous Instagram post.

Georgia Jay,who is known for playing Steph Miligan on the soap, left fans confused as she seemingly paid tribute to the character in the past tense in her post

Last year, Georgia headed on maternity leave from the soap to have her baby girl Nora.

The departure was thought to be temporary while she welcomed her daughter.

And in March, she posted a snap with a script and seemingly confirmed she was preparing for a comeback to the soap.

However, Emmerdale fans are worried that Georgia’s new post confirms she actually won’t ever be returning.

Sharing some pictures from the Dales’ set, Georgia wrote: “Can’t believe I left the village nearly a year ago!

“Miss you Steph, and everyone who made it so special.”

Taking to the comment section, one fan wrote: “Hope your coming back? (sic)”

Another said: “I hope you are coming back Steph and hope you haven’t changed your mind…. As I did see on YouTube spoilers few times that you returning something this year….. So I’m not sure if that’s true or no… I hope you do come back”.

Several others flooded the comment section with questions about whether Georgia was returning, but the star did not respond.

The Sun has reached out to Emmerdale for comment.

Georgia first joined the iconic show back in 2024 as the daughter of Ruby and Caleb Miligan.

Her character Steph was last seen on-screen in August last year when she departed to head to a yoga retreat in Rome.

Her ex Ross Barton (Mike Parr) tried to stop her from leaving, but after just finding out he’d slept with Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker), she decided she couldn’t trust him and wanted nothing to do with him.

However, she did promise mum Ruby she would return in the future.
