Rosie Bentham, who has played Emmerdale‘s Gabby Thomas since 2016, will ditched her Dales wardrobe for a sparkling ballgown in her new role as Disney Princess Cinderella.

She will play the fairytale role in Mansfield Palace Theatre’s Christmas 2026 pantomime, with the venue proudly making the reveal in a lengthy statement on Instagram.

Yet with the 24-year-old’s time soon to be spent in the Nottingham venue – her home turf – it has promoted suggestions her soap role might be under threat.

An image showed Rosie in Cinderella’s housemaid outfit, posing with her hands on her hips.

A statement then revealed: “She’s swapped the Dales for a pumpkin carriage — and Nottinghamshire, we couldn’t be more excited!

“We are absolutely over the moon to announce that Rosie Bentham is coming home.

“Known and loved by millions as Gabby Thomas in ITV’s Emmerdale, this Nottingham-born star is stepping into the most iconic glass slippers in pantomime history — playing Cinderella herself at the Mansfield Palace Theatre this Christmas!

“From the cobblestones of the Dales to the glittering stage of the Palace, Rosie brings genuine warmth, star quality and a little bit of Emmerdale magic to a role she was born to play.

“Joining the brilliant Adam Moss as Buttons, this is a Cinderella that Mansfield is going to be talking about long after the ball is over”.

They added: “Will our heroine make it to the ball? Will the glass slipper finally fit?

“You already know how the story ends… but seeing Rosie bring Cinderella to life right here on your Palace stage is going to be something truly special this Christmas”.

The show starts its run on November 21.
